Scientific misconceptions

Science Learning

Nov 29

Scientific misconceptions are common among students and adults.  In the first of two sessions we will look at the research behind misconceptions and why it is important that teachers understand the more common ones and allow for them in their planning.  We will look at resources that you could use within your department to help teachers of all levels and subjects address this issue.

Alastair Gittner is an experienced science teacher and school leader, who has delivered training and CPD locally and nationally.  He is currently research lead at Notre Dame High School and is chair of the Research Group for the Association of Science Education.
