Hallam Teaching School Alliance is offering graduate training to be a teacher via a school based training route with the expectation of a job offer at a Hallam Teaching School Alliance School on successful completion of the course.
You may be entitled to a bursary of up to £20,000 to pay for the training - depending on subject specialism and your degree class
Course fees will be £9000 and include 60 credits of Leeds Trinity University College Master’s Degree completed during the training year and the first year of teaching so you will have the best possible start in your career and a career long association with the Hallam Teaching School Alliance with fast track progression to school leadership for the most talented
This is an opportunity to train alongside serving outstanding teachers in a scheme overseen by an outstanding school; Notre Dame was one of the first 100 Teaching Schools designated in 2011. The Hallam Teaching School Alliance is a large collaborative group of schools both Catholic and Community Schools including schools and academies from a range of settings. Training with Hallam TSA can therefore be tailored to your needs with experience in a variety of settings from working with small schools to very large ones, schools serving deprived catchments or children with special needs and schools with large academic sixth forms sending students to top universities. All the schools are committed to playing a significant role in training up their own future teachers as part of this collaborative network. We work in partnership with Leeds Trinity University College who are at the forefront of innovations in teacher training.
Training commences in September 2013 with teaching posts to commence September 2014. Competition for places is expected to be high so early applications are encouraged. Hallam Teaching School Open Night Thursday November 22nd 2012
Hallam Teaching School are holding an open night from 4.30pm – 7.00pm at Notre Dame High School, Fulwood Road, Sheffield, S10 3BT. This would be a great opportunity to come and talk to staff about the course, meet representatives from some of the schools involved and talk to Leeds Trinity University College about student finance and the Master’s degree prior to putting in an application or come and ask questions even if you have already completed your application.

Details of Schools in the Hallam Teaching School Alliance who are working with Notre Dame to train teachers with the expectation of offering jobs to the successful trainees are listed below.
We work with many schools across Yorkshire so please apply giving clear indication of where you would like to train and are therefore likely to be offered a job on successful completion or, to increase your chances of a successful application, if you are flexible on location state this clearly.
Application procedure
Online applications via the Teaching Agency will be assessed and successful applicants will be invited to a group interview at Leeds Trinity University College and then if successful interviewed individually at the school offering the training place. Recent relevant school based work experience would be a significant advantage.
