Hallam TSA is proud to coordinate the South Yorkshire Maths Hub providing DfE funded support for mathematics teaching in primary and secondary schools across the region. Click here to visit the Maths Hub site.

The South Yorkshire Maths Hub is one of four hubs serving Yorkshire and there is a network of over 30 hubs nationwide. Sponsored by the DfE and in conjunction with the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics, the Hallam Teaching School Alliance leads the Maths Hub activity in South Yorkshire.

 
Co-ordinated by Pete Sides (formerly Head of Maths at Notre Dame High School in Sheffield) the aims of the hub's activity include; "A resolute focus on pupil's maths outcomes"  and  "Determined support for all schools & colleges to improve"
 
This educator led initiative is based on a principle that  "Teachers doing good work together to make a difference to pupils" with a longer term vision to strategically combine the efforts of the Mathematics community in adapting best practice locally and from across the world for the benefit of our children.

The South Yorkshire Maths Hub (SYMH) aims to work with all schools in the region and encourages not just Maths leaders but all teachers of Maths to engage with the opportunities that are made available. The Maths Hubs are co-ordinated nationally by the NCETM with each hub also having a steering group to oversee local activity.
